Helping you with Individualised Funding.

Individualised Funding provides disabled people with increased choice and control over how and when they use their support allocations, and who provides them with this support. Access can assist you by providing a range of services, including setting up an Individualised Funding Service, and helping you understand and manage your responsibilities.

Individualised Funding:

  • Individualised Funding allows disabled people (including nominated agents or family/whanau members who make decisions on their behalf) to directly manage the resources they are allocated for disability supports, following an assessment by a Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) organisation.
  • Those wanting to manage their support allocations using Individualised Funding, must do this through an Individualised Funding Host organisation that is contracted by the Ministry of Health.
  • Access has been contracted as an Individualised Funding Host since 2010.

Individualised Funding can be used:

  • To purchase support services provided by support workers (employees or contracted personnel or organisations).
  • To cover the costs relating to the employment of support workers.

  • The provision of an invoicing mechanism allowing disabled people to authorise IF Host to make payments to and invoice the Ministry for support hours used.
  • Monitoring and Reporting to the Ministry in relation to the support services delivered and the quality of those services.
  • Establishment of networks for disabled people using Individualised Funding to enable peer support, sharing of information, and sharing of resources such as staff and staff training.

Plus...

Access can provide these extra options (at additional costs) to suit individual needs including:

  • Provision of full payroll system including management of ACC, PAYE and Kiwisaver obligations.
  • Support worker household management and/or support worker personal care.
