Support Worker - Stroke Team

As a dedicated Support Worker in our in-home stroke team, you will be a key part of bringing people who have suffered a stroke back home to rehabilitate.

You will be part of a team of skilled staff who provide the best care, support, and independence to our clients. Full training will be provided to the successful candidates.

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker at Access Community Health you will assist with improving the quality of life of our clients and supporting them to remain in their homes by helping them perform their simple daily functions such as meal prep, light exercise, local transportation, social interactions and housekeeping. Your compassion and diligence as a caregiver will bring joy into the lives of the clients you work with and help them feel encouraged, involved and love Our Support Workers are caring people with a commitment to providing the best possible support to our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a specific care team.

What’s in it for you?

  • We will commit to 8 hour pre-set shifts or rolling rosters.
  • Sleepover shifts available. - These can be a mix of full and part time 7am-3pm 3pm-11pm 11pm-7am
  • Earn while you learn! On-going training and career progression – we will support you to achieve training qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • Experience –If you’ve had a job or experience in a position with similar goals and responsibilities, we’d love to connect with you.
  • Skills – We’re looking for individuals that are compassionate, social, trustworthy and service-minded. If you have experience cooking, cleaning or caring for others, that’s a bonus!
  • Characteristics – This is an autonomous position, you will sometimes be working alone, so we’re looking for individuals that are self-motivated and willing to learn through experience and receiving feedback. -
  • Attitude – you will be someone who is honest, reliable and with integrity. You will thrive off helping and supporting others.
  • Someone with reliable transport and a current Full NZ drivers’ licence
