In-home Respite Care
Caring for a friend or family member can be demanding - so when you need a break, Access provides the respite you need.
Access' highly trained nationwide team are on hand when you need them, for the short or long term. So if you need a day, week or month to yourself, you can rest assured that those you care for are in the best hands.
In-home respite care includes:
- Personal care – dressing/undressing, bathing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
- Household assistance – cleaning, cooking, laundry, sleepovers, shopping and transportation, child care, and helping you to keep in touch with your community.
- Nursing supervision – regular contact with qualified nursing staff to address any emerging health issues.
Developing your Support Plan:
- We start by getting to know you and assessing your family's situation, needs and expectations.
- We create a short-term care plan that works for you and your loved one.
- We assign you a support worker – chosen for their ability to meet your loved one's needs – to provide temporary care and support.

How we support you
- We understand the pressures of caring for someone, and everyone needs a break. We provide in-home respite care to avoid the upheaval of your loved one going into a rest home or facility/hospital.
- Our care covers everything including dressing, housekeeping, medication monitoring and assisting with grocery shopping.
- Whether you need us to fill in while you go on holiday or in response to an unexpected hospital visit, we provide both everyday and crisis respite care.
- We work with the whole family to ensure that your loved one is comfortable with us throughout the period of respite.
