our-approach

If you ever find it a challenge coping on your own or relying on family and friends, it’s good to know that someone is here to offer you a hand.

Whether you require nursing, personal care, or even just some help around the house, Access is dedicated to giving you the care and support you need to live independently in your community.

We start by getting to know you

When you get in touch with Access, the first thing we talk about is you.

Often the people we work with are either:

  • over the age of 65
  • with a disability
  • rehabilitating following an injury or accident
  • recovering from an illness or hospitalisation
  • suffering from a long-term condition, or
  • in the final stages of life.

Once we have a good understanding of your needs, we draw on our skills and experience to ensure you receive the type and level of support that works best for you, and your family and whānau.

Providing care and support for independent living

We always put you first.

This involves doing whatever we can to help you achieve your goals, while not forgetting the importance of basic things like good timekeeping and a friendly face.

It also involves recognising your culture and diversity, as well as respecting your privacy and dignity; ensuring that you never feel uncomfortable or embarrassed.
